Squidball

Massive interactive game that premiered at SIGGRAPH.

As a result of my interactive installation work, I was invited to join the team at NYU Movement Lab for the creation of Squidball. Squidball is an interactive game designed to be played by a 4,000 person audience. The game debuted on August 12th, 2004, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I contributed to the game design, graphics, development, and am listed as one of the inventors on the patent.

Madlib at EMPAC

A celebration of EMPAC's opening with innovation and style.

EMPAC's Opening Gala after-party in October 2008 was headlined by the legendary musician and producer Madlib. The ever-innovative VJ collective Vidvox was asked to take advantage of the one-of-a-kind cylindrical screen hanging over the stage. Vidvox invited me to join them. I played the drum kit from the game Rock Band that controlled custom video synthesizers.

Glove Instrument

A wearable instrument for manipulating sound samples live.

My thesis project at RPI consisted of designing and implementing a musical performance system. This system included a custom-built glove interface and software for my laptop. After completing the interface and software, I took it on the road while performing with a band that included a turntablist and a keyboardist.

Invisibles in Prague

An interactive video/audio installation for the first ever Prague Biennale.

As a result of my work with sensor-enabled interactive installations, I was invited to join Alisa Andrasek's team. The goal was to create an interactive installation at the first ever Prague Biennale in 2003. We designed and implemented the installation, and then traveled to Prague and installed it. I was in charge of programming the video manipulation software, designing and implementing the sound component, and incorporating with the infra-red sensor. More info can be found here and here.
