Time Capsule

A time capsule of floor sweepings commissioned by Flux Factory 20th Anniversary

I was commissioned by Flux Factory to create this piece for Homecoming, their 20th anniversary exhibition and banquet. Looking to respond to Flux Factory's rich history I diligently dug through their archives. I was looking for a clue, or a message. Eventually I discovered a cup's worth of floor sweepings from more than a decade ago. I collected a floor sample from 2014 and presented both. At the end of the exhibition, the whole mess was swallowed up by Ayden Grout's even bigger time capsule and ceremoniously interred.
